The Self-efficacy, Learning Motivation and Outcome by Empowerment Program and DISC Behavior Patterns

Abstract
This study analyzed the effects of empowerment program on the self-efficacy, learning motivation and outcome of nursing students, and the differences in the self-empowerment, academic self-efficacy, learning motivation and outcome by DISC behavior patterns. The empowerment program was conducted from Auguest to November in 2014 by the nursing students, and it was carried out pre-test, intervention, and post-test. Effectiveness of the program examined using the scale of self-efficacy, learning motivation and outcome through experimental and control group. DISC behavior patterns were classified as D-type (Dominant), I-type (Influencer), S-type (Steadiness), and C-type (Conscientiousness). As the results, the empowerment program had the effect of increasing self-efficacy, and there were significant differences in the confidence, self-regulation efficacy as well as task difficulty preference. The empowerment program had the effect of increasing learning motivation, and there were significant differences in the attention and curiosity. In addition, there were significant differences in the learning motivation by DISC behavior patterns. The results of this study will provide educational data on the self-empowerment program and the youngsters of tomorrow.
